  • National Impaired Driving Prevention Month starts today, so keep an eye out as we feature some organizations that are doing amazing work to spread driver safety awareness and prevention.
  • It’s National Pear Month! Get a head start on your New Years resolution (or end off 2016 strong) and get those fruits in this month!
  • #DidYouKnow? This Sunday, December 4th, some also observe National Cookie Day! One cheat day can’t hurt, right? If your baking up some goods, be sure to share the celebrations with us!

NYC

  • Join the Bowery Residents’ Committee this Christmas to serve those experiencing homelessness in our community. There will be multiple locations across the city so be sure to check out the info above! December 14th, 11am–3:30pm.
  • Get in the giving spirit with team DOROT! Hang out and help Seniors with their long list of to-dos: grocery shopping, getting to doctor appointments, teaching them how to use smartphones, or just for a walk in the park. Open invitation with no deadline!
  • Is art your thing? Now volunteering can be too! If your interested in spreading art culture, then theres no better way to start then with our youth! Join Free Arts NYC and spend 2–3 hours/week mentoring a young artists, helping hone their skills and build a portfolio. Hey maybe you’ll learn something while you’re at it!

SF

  • Volunteer from your couch? Sounds too good to be true! We’ll, let us assure you… it’s not. If you’re the person that always knows just what to say, consider becoming a Crisis Counselor, answering messages from people looking for a calm moment and someone who’ll listen to them.
  • The San Francisco Bach Choir is putting on a show for the ages this Christmas, and needs your help! On Friday December 2nd, from 6–10pm, they are looking for volunteers to Usher and take on a range of tasks — from seating, will call, and all that jazz. Well classical music technically…

Boston

  • Join the Umbrella Community Arts Center for their annual Winter Market on December 2nd — 4th. Musicians flood the hall while free booths and activities are going on all around you. They are looking for volunteers to help prep for this epic event. Check out the details above to learn more!
  • Yulefest is a holiday race through Harvard Square that benefits local charities. On December 11th, join them for a 5k race followed by a wild block party sponsored by four local craft brewers. Man what a day that’s destined to be!
