Lindsay joined us on Good St. with Casper during the summer of 2014. We caught up with her over at the company’s showroom in SoHo, NYC…

Good St. is about making giving a part of our daily routines… What is a quirky daily routine of yours?
I coldbrew Zabar’s ice coffee, and I have to wake up to a glass of ice coffee every day. Not even a big glass, just a little small one will do the trick.

What’s one GOOD change you’d like to see in the world?
I’d like to see the prison population reduced drastically. I think there are a lot of people in jail who shouldn’t be, and it ruins lives, and the lives of the children of the incarcerated.

What’s a GOOD memory from your childhood?
My dad took my brother and me on a surprise adventure. We drove down to New York City and went to the top of the Word Trade Center. I have a memory of the elevator — I’d never been on an elevator so fast — I barely even remember the view because I just remember that feeling of inertia..

What is a cause or organization your particularly passionate about? And why?
I’m very passionate about Planned Parenthood. I think that women need affordable health options and the opportunity to see a doctor.

What other community are you a part of and what does that mean to you?
I’m in an Article club. It’s a community of women who don’t have time for book club, so we get together every few weeks to discuss articles.

Inspirational quotes are all the rage — come up with one on the spot right now.
Make love, not snore.

Tell me something out of the box:
My Casper mattress came out of a box.

So Casper has signed your team up for Good St….after receiving the daily emails for a bit why is Good St. meaningful to you?
It’s really meaningful to be reminded of all the work that needs to be done in the world on a daily basis.

On Good St. we believe that small change (like our quarters) can lead to big change… can you think of a particular experience in your life that you believe changed you, whether in a big or small way?
My dog is from the only no-kill shelter in Puerto Rico. I didn’t know this when I adopted her, but Puerto Rico is so overrun with beach dogs, that many are thrown off cliffs. We found my pup on petfinder.com, she was rescued by a wonderful group of people, and she is daily reminder of their good will. There is a lot of need in this world, and it breaks my heart when people have a choice, and they choose a designer dog over a shelter rescue. Something as simple as getting a puppy could have such a big impact.

Rapid Fire Good:
Good bar?

My Dad’s bar, ‘Max’s on Main’ in Beacon, NY.
Good Restaurant?
Gallaghers in Midtown. The steakhouse not the strip club.
Good Band?
Zeppelin
Good Movie?
The Graduate
Good Idea?
Voting
Good Gift?
Everybody loves a chocolate babka.
True…well, I can’t, I’m Gluten Free…
Good Excuse?
Oh I can’t, I’m gluten free!
Good Word?
Punctual
Good TV Show?
Mad Men
Good Date?
Scotch
Let’s flip a quarter — Heads or Tails?
Heads
