Meet The Street

4 min readFeb 11, 2016

We got the Good word from Terri over at Casper’s showroom in Soho, NYC. Here’s what the Director of Paid Acquisitions had to share with us…

Good St. is about making giving a part of our daily routines… What is a quirky daily routine of yours?
I am not the least bit embarrassed to admit that I Facetime with my dog. Blitz goes to work with my fiancé and I get to see my dog contributing to the culture at a mobile interactive agency… by bringing smiles to the faces of the engineers and product peeps.

Whats one GOOD change you’d like to see in the world?
I would like to see people be more compassionate, especially in a city like NYC where people are so busy. I feel like people fail to acknowledge some of the poverty that surrounds us. Simply acknowledging someone, with a warm smile and greeting can be powerful. The smallest act of kindness can really mean a lot. I think that Good St.’s early email can kind of trigger this mindset, opening the email from bed in the morning, or at the start of your workday, is a good way to get into a good frame of mind.

What is a cause or organization your particularly passionate about? And why?
I am most passionate about animal shelters because I have a soft spot in my heart for things that can’t help themselves. I also enjoy volunteering at homeless shelters because it’s really easy to carve out two hours on a Sunday morning to go and serve food. Or you can do some spring cleaning and donate your clothes to people who would be happy to have it. I’ve done a lot of work with NorCal Family Dog Rescue in SF and NYCRescue.org is a local opportunity.

Inspirational quotes are all the rage — come up with one on the spot right now.
I can’t take credit for the saying, but I would say I’ve always liked the notion that your character is defined by what you do when no one is watching. You should always be the same authentic person.

Casper has signed your team up for Good St….after receiving the daily emails for a bit why is Good St. meaningful to you?
Receiving that prompt early in the morning is a great way to kickstart your day and get you in the mindset that you should be very grateful for what you have. It’s a really great reminder that there’s so many great organizations and causes to be a part of. Even if it’s awareness around a social issue or problem, international or domestic, it’s been great to get your mind to think about these things on a more frequent basis.

On Good St. we believe that small change (like our quarters) can lead to big change… can you think of a particular experience in your life that you believe changed you, whether in a big or small way?
A few years ago, I was given an opportunity to move from the agency side to the brand side, which led to a bigger relocation from the east coast to the west coast. Being 3,000 miles from the people that were so important in my life totally made me mature a lot quicker than I would have if I would have been so close to these resources and stayed within my comfort zone. Moving far way from the people you care about really makes you evaluate relationships and prioritize them to make sure people know how much you care… distance really does make the heart grow fonder. It really puts things in perspective.
